Yesterday was the International Women's day and the main celebrations were held at Kololo Independence grounds. President Museveni was the chief guest at the ceremony that saw many including Annette Nandujja and Mariam Ndagire win medals. However, before Mr. Museveni could give the highlights of his sixteen-page-speech, it was a moment for the artists to entertain the guests.
The Tubonga Nawe song was performed first. It should be noted that there are a number of female artists on this project but during the performance, Bebe Cool, King Saha and Chameleone were the only artists that performed the song to the surprise of many, the Tubonga Nawe female artists were a no show which was quite a shocker now that it was the Women's day.
Well, either way, female artists had to be given a chance now that it was their day, Leila Kayondo was the first to hit the stage and next in line was Winnie Nwagi but before she could even utter the word Musawo..the mic was switched off. Initially, she thought it was a technical glitch but time was of essence here, they had to cross to the disabled lady to do her performance with lines like; 'Inability is not Disability.'
As Chameleone, Bebe Cool and Saha were performing, they left the stage to go and mingle with some of the guests and as seen in the pic, he tries to pull those stunts that he normally does of falling to the fans but these were fairly old ladies so he had to play his cards well with his fan games..
Having missed to perform for the President, Winnie Nwagi has resorted to kissing her Zzina awards pics, an event that happened a week back, otherwise had it not been for that embarrassing moment at Kololo, she could be sharing pics of her performance at Kololo but it was literally not there...
