The latest provisional results from Uganda Electoral Commission have been pronounced and the incumbent has maintained the lead at 61.05%.
It's eight hours to the official deadline and results from 21,254 polling stations out of the 28,010 have been released, they represent 76% of the total polling stations and the closest challenger, Dr. Kizza Besigye, has 34.94%, can he reduce candidate Museveni's percentage by increasing his in the remaining 6,756 polling stations? well, we can only know by 4:00pm today when the EC chairperson Eng. Dr. Badru Kiggundu releases the final tally vote.
Update 8 of the provisional results that was released this morning at 8:30am represents 7,451,725 of the valid votes cast out of which the incumbent garnered 4,159,148 which is way more than half of the valid votes.
Former Premier, John Patrick Amama Mbabazi (JPAM) comes in a distant third position.
